MY PATH TO ARVIGO
My path to a career in the healing arts unfolded in a truly organic way. I had always been drawn to the field of compassionate care, but it became clear after personally experiencing the physical and emotional benefits of massage that I wanted to offer this to others. After completing my training as a massage therapist at the renowned Swedish Institute in New York in 2009, my deep interest in alternative therapies led me to explore other modalities of massage. Arvigo stood out as a simple and effective therapy that I wanted to share with others. Before long, I was in Italy completing an intensive training under prominent teachers of Arvigo, including the founder herself, Rosita Arvigo.
OTHER HEALING WORK
During my early years as a massage therapist, I found myself working with women in all phases of pregnancy and pre-conception. I had the privilege of offering pro-bono work through a safe space shelter to support pregnant teens. This invaluable experience taught me about compassion and opened my eyes to the possibility of supporting pregnant woman beyond massage alone. This started me on my next journey of becoming a DONA certified doula and a placenta encapsulation specialist with additional training in Bach remedies. Since then, I’ve utilized all of these different modalities to support mothers and families in many different situations, from complicated high risk pregnancies and multiples to home births.
“My work as a doula and an Arvigo specialist helps me cultivate openness, patience, acceptance and kindness. I’ve learned that every body type, pregnancy, and family unit is different and in need of it’s own unique care. I look forward to meeting you wherever you are in your journey.” - Silin
